Oneida County 4-H partners with FIRST LEGO League to offer a 4-H/FLL Explore team for youth in grades 2-4, where students EXPLORE real-world problems, learn to design and code, and create unique solutions made with Legos! During each session, youth collaborate and communicate to build, learn, and play together, and also shared what they’ve learned with others. They are encouraged to work with their teammates, listen to each other, take turns, and share ideas and pieces. The partnership between 4-H and FIRST LEGO League offers a unique opportunity for young people to experiment and grow their confidence, critical thinking, communication, and design skills through hands-on learning.

Participants are added to a team based on the availability of a team volunteer coach (for example, the child of a parent who is willing to serve as team coach will be added to the team first), followed by those who sign up first.

The child(ren) of a volunteer team coach can participate in this program at no cost! It’s one of the perks of serving as a team volunteer coach!
