Introduction to the Plan Commission – Monday, October 27th Noon-1 p.m.
Attend this session to learn about roles of the plan commission including legal and procedural requirements. We will introduce three primary tools for decision-making including the comprehensive plan, zoning ordinance, and subdivision ordinance.
Introduction to the Zoning Board – Tuesday, November 4th Noon-1 p.m.
Attend this session to look at how zoning board members act like judges and how their decisions impact communities. We will take a deep dive into variance decisions including how to create a complete record for the courts.
Zoning Fundamentals – Thursday, November 13th Noon-1 p.m.
We will review various forms of zoning and why most Wisconsin communities have adopted zoning. Then we’ll cover the roles of different local government bodies in adopting, amending and administering zoning.
Subdivision Regulations – Tuesday, November 18th Noon-1 p.m.
Subdivision regulations provide a legal process for dividing and recording land. In this session, we’ll review state requirements for subdivisions, options for local land division ordinances, and the role of local government officials in reviewing plats and certified survey maps.
Comprehensive Planning – Monday, November 24th Noon-1 p.m.
